File Shredder is a small utility that will completely erase the contents of sensitive files and folders that you specify. Normal file deletion only removes a file''s directory entry, but leaves the data contained in the file on your disk drive. File Shredder completely overwrites the contents of a file and then deletes it. To shred files and folders simply drag them to the File Shredder icon in the same way you would the Recycle Bin. You can also shred files by right-clicking on them from the MS Windows Explorer and selecting the Send To item on the popup context menu. File Shredder has two file wiping methods available, a standard two-pass file clearing procedure and an NSA approved seven-pass file erasure method. For normal file deletion operations the two-pass method should be sufficient, but if you want to thoroughly erase a file''s contents before deleting it the NSA approved method may be used. NOTE: Files and folders selected for shredding can not be recovered using an undelete program. The purpose of File Shredder is to completely remove sensitive files and their contents from you disk drive. Once a file has been shredded it can not be recovered using sophisticated file restoration utilities.

AccuSplit is designed to rapidly and reliably split large files and computer videos into smaller segments to allow for easy archival to external media like DVD, CD-R, Zip or floppy disks. The file segments can then be recombined at a later time into an exact copy of the original file. The application is capable of segmenting and then correctly reconstructing ANY file, even large Windows Backup files exceeding 70GB. To insure that the file reconstructed from the file segments exactly matches the original source file AccuSplit incorporates an advanced cryptographic algorithm that computes an MD5 Message Digest for both the original and reconstructed files. An MD5 match between these files indicates with absolute certainty that no data was lost during the file split and reconstruction process. AccuSplit also includes the capability to create RAID-formatted file segments. In this mode the software creates file segments that are embedded with a very powerful RAID-style error correction mechanism that allows it to correct for data errors on damaged media - errors ranging from a single corrupted data byte on a scratched CD to an entirely missing file segment are fully correctable with this option. AccuSplit also includes a special Video Smart Split mode that can split AVI (including DIVX / XVID / INDEO / DV-AVI) and MPEG-1 format files (including Video-CD) into "independently playable" segments without a lengthy video re-rendering process. Now you can split your large video files into CD-sized (or any other size) segments and play them back directly from the CD - no file reconstruction is required. The software also a includes a Video Preview option that allows the user to manually adjust the location of the file split points - avoiding splits in the middle of an important scene. AccuSplit runs as a stand-alone executable - there is nothing to install, doesn''t include any annoying AdWare or NagWare plug-ins, and runs under Windows [95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP/Server2003].
